Entering Into the Holiday Season...
See Who is Fit to Lead and Leading the Way:
Jimmy Hawkins (Staff - Food Services Staff) has lost over 50 lbs since starting Group Training in October 2008.
Kristen Clever (Staff - Reinvestment) completed her first half marathon on October 31. Kristen and her father trained and completed the race together, making the experience that much more meaningful!
Daniel Cauble (Contractor - Administration) and his wife Melissa completed their first 5k (Kaiser Permanente Corporate 5k) in September. They now walk together on evenings and weekends and are eating healthier, resulting in Daniel losing 70 lbs and Melissa losing 48lbs!
Ed Bowles (Operator of Jefferson Mall, Louisville, KY) committed to being fit to lead several years ago. He has since lost 40 pounds by choosing to eat healthfully and exercise regularly.
"I've been at or below my goal weight for 2.5 years. I exercise for 30 minutes on the treadmill at least 5 times a week, half running at 6.5 to 7 mph and half walking on an incline. When I'm done I know I've worked out for the day and my energy level has doubled!"
Brynn Albretsen (Operator of Regency Square DTO) is a wellness champion for the Coastal Team! She sends a monthly email of encouragement with ideas on ways to Mooooove and Eat Light, Eat Often. The Coastal Team is creating healthy habits, increasing energy and working hard to win free registration to Grand Canyon 2010.
“I LOVE the Energy Challenge,” exclaims Becky Pickle (Operator of South Jordan FSU - West Coast). Becky has lost 24 lbs and is encouraged to keep going! Two specific habits that contribute to her success – she tracks her activity, nutrition, and weight using the online tool - www.shapingupcfa.com, has eliminated soda from her diet.
Jimmy Cristantiello (Operator of The Gardens – Coastal Region) now comes home from work with energy to play with his two young children. Three habits he attributes to his success – proper nutrition, regular exercise, and drinking 1 oz of water per lb (that he weighs).
Clinton Cowden (Operator of Grapevine Mills FSU – Southwest Region) and his wife Cynthia now use smaller dinner plates and no longer drink calories (i.e. they drink water and un-sweet tea). Clinton said his energy has “hit the roof” and they are both encouraged by the weight loss!
Mike Perdue (Operator of Oleander Drive) completed his first triathlon, Wilmington YMCA Triathlon, on September 19, 2009. See photos from the event under Past Events.
Danny Beltran (Operator of Rufe Snow FSU) In January, Danny made health a priority after he had a heart attack at the young age of 36. Since then he has completed cardiac rehab and created habits with exercise and healthy eating. The Energy Challenge has both encouraged and guided him in his efforts. He has lost 25 pounds and improved both his cholesterol and blood pressure. Danny now encourages other Operators, team members, and customers to consider making wise choices.
Brandi Diamond (Operator Spouse - Howell Mill Road FSU & GA Tech)
"I have lost 24 lbs and 15.5 inches! I went from 13 sit-ups to 28, from 2 push-ups to 10, and added 5 inches in sit and reach! I also went from barely running .7 of a mile in 12 minutes to 1.25!! I am so excited about my hard work and I appreciate Chick-fil-A Wellness' big efforts!
